Historic Organs in France, Volume 10

Collection of French Baroque music performed by Albert Bolliger. Accompanying booklet gives an in-depth description of the organ at Saint-Pons de Thomières. The church built in the year 936 expanded and was consecrated as a cathedral in 1318. It is assumed that the church housed an organ from the time it was built as there is reference of an old organ in poor condition. The present-day organ was built between 1767-1771. The CD insert offers a detailed explanation of the program's works and brief biographies on the composers featured. Also included are the stoplists of the organ and the registrations used for performance.
