"Organ music suitable for Mother's Day has been, up to now, practically non-existent. This set of seven pieces based on Proverbs 31 has been written to address such a need. Any of them alone or in combination can be used as preludes and offertories, and the last one even as a postlude. The entire set could make a perfect addition to an organ concert. The double titles given the pieces make them usable for other occasions, serving thus a double purpose. The piees are modal in character and each is in a different mode. Some may find the second particularly interesting not only for its lilting and cheerfull character, but the intriguing sound and unusual spelling of both melody and harmony since it is based on the second mode of the enigmatic scale: E, F#, G#, A#, B, C, Db. 

Regarding quotes from Proverbs 31: they have been chosen from various translations to avoid the archaic and anachronistic imagery of ancient versions, though it could not be altogether avoided without clouding the original meaning and their purpose to the composition. Nevertheless, they can be taken as metaphors for the work and activities of women and mothers of today, and for the intimacy of relationships in home life which, no doubt, have remained the same from the beginning of time."
