BOSSI: Concerto in a, op. 100 RHEINBERGER: Symphony No. 2 in g, op. 177 BOËLLMANN: Suite Gothique The almost never heard concerto by Marco Enrico Bossi reveals again that the music directors of orchestras are largely ignorant of the repertoire for organ and orchestra. This substantial, 30-minute work in three movements integrates the organ with orchestra in a similar way as do other great works for organ and orchestra, such as those by Guilmant (elsewhere on this page) and Rheinberger, one of which is included in the program on this CD. The performance is very good, with organist Gabriel Dessauer playing the powerful 3-59 Mayer organ in the resonant St. Bonifatius Church, Wiesbaden, with theKammerphilharmonie Rhein-Main directed by Jürgen Bruns.
