Motets written by Henry DuMont are interspersed with selections from Boyvin’s organ books. Laurent Beyhurst plays the 1699 Julien Tribuot organ in the Church of St. Martin in Seurre, France, moved to the parish church in Seurre in 1791 by Bènigne Boillot from the Cistercian Abbey of Maizières. Well restored, the organ is now in its fourth century of use. The DuMont motets are sung by the skilled ensemble of Catherine Greuillet and François Masset, sopranos; Sylvie Althaparro, mezzo; Sylvie Moquet, viola da gamba and Laurent Beyhurst, continuo. The vocalists also perform Magnificat plainchants in alternatim with the Boyvin works.
