Christine Kamp Plays Vierne Complete Organ Works, Volume 3
This third volume of Vierne works includes the first recording made in St. Ouen, Rouen, of the Messe solennelle for two organs and two choirs. Christine Kamp plays what may be the most beautiful Cavaillé-Coll (1890, 4m) in the West gallery (Tribune) and, for the Messe solennelle, Wim Dijkstra plays the almost never-heard Orgue de choeur built in 1856 by Ducroquet which was electrified in 1935. René Nieuwint directs the critically acclaimed Koor Nieuwe Muziek of Amsterdam, which travelled to Rouen for the recording.
