The famous 1956 Aeolian-Skinner organ in Fort Wayne, Indiana’s First Presbyterian Church has been the site of the final rounds of the church’s National Organ Playing Competition for many years, but is seldom heard on a recording. The organ, now with 81 ranks on four manuals is heard here in a fine program of French works performed by Serbian-born organist Marko Petricic, who was taught by H. Joseph Butler at Ohio University and awarded Master’s and Doctoral degrees at Indiana University under Christopher Young. FRANCK: Choral in a WIDOR: Adagio from Symphonie 5 in F, Op. 41, No. 1 GUILMANT: First Sonata (Symphony) for Organ, Op. 42 DURUFLÉ: Prelude & Fugue on ALAIN, Op. 7 MESSIAEN: Serene Alleluias from L’Ascension, Dieu parmi nous from La Nativité du Seigneur
