Thomas Heywood, following in the steps of Edwin H. Lemare and embracing a thoroughly orchestral approach to his instrument, has transcribed or arranged all of the works on this recording, with the exception of the early Marche Moderne, Op. 2 by Lemare himself. Playing on the Kotzschmar organ where Lemare was municipal organist from 1921 to 1923, Heywood offers pyrotechnic playing and highly entertaining programming from passacaglia to polka.
