Balázs Szabó plays the E. F. Walcker & Cie, Votivkirche Wien, 1878; Gebrüder Link, Ev. Stadkirche Giengen a. d. Brenz, 1906; and Th. Kuhn, St. Anton Zürich, 1914. Original preserved organs were selected, representing the three stages of development in late Romantic organ building that took place during Reger’s lifetime. All three instruments, taken together with the churches built during the same period, represent an architectural and acoustic unity, and were considered by such leading contemporaries as A.W. Gottschlag to be consummate masterpieces.
