"Acis announces a survey of American organ music from colonial times to the present day with a New England focal point by organist and researcher Justin Murphy-Mancini. “Organ Music in New England: Cultivating a Living Tradition” was conceived to mark the 300th Anniversary of the founding of the First Religious Society, Newburyport, where Murphy-Mancini was previously Director of Church Music, and showcases the historic 1834 Joseph Alley instrument. MurphyMancini was inspired to create the album by his mentor and predecessor, the late organist and historian Barbara Owen."
