Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields
Visiting the area of Australia’s mid-19th century gold rush, six organists demonstrate 15 organs found in the area. An informative booklet offers histories of the organs and many pictures of the venues. The performers have chosen short demonstration pieces appropriate to the organs, with composers represented from Brahms, Mendelssohn and Rheinberger, to Bossi, Buxtehude and Langlais and others.
