The Gloucestershire countryside produces British singers and choral composers of great renown, including the 20th-century composers represented on this beautifully performed CD. The Saint-Cecilia Singers have met at Gloucester Cathedral since 1949, where they have been conducted by successive assistant organists of the cathedral. Here, they sing in the cathedral as directed by Mark Lee. Andrew Sackett accompanies on the cathedral organ.
