finds Diane Bish playing a replica of the hydraulus (the first, pre-Christian, pipe organ) at the unique organ museum in Roch, Switzerland, where a special organ demonstrates the effects of various pipe scales. The curator demonstrates methods of raising wind for the organ as they evolved over centuries, as well as children’s toys based on the organ, an ancient house organ, and a water motor. A choir yodels. Organs seen and heard include: Bern Cathedral, St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva, Lausanne Cathedral, and the Hofkirche in Lucerne.
