Bach Trio Sonatas: Alard at Saint-Louis en l'Île, Paris
$18.98
The 2005 organ at Saint-Louis en l’Île was built by the Aubertin Organ Works with intentions of “keeping with the spirit of Bach’s works, and with the sonorities that he particularly appreciated.” The organ has 51 stops, 3 manuals and pedal. Banjamin Alard (b. 1985) has been the organist of the Aubertin organ since its installation. He began his keyboard study with piano at age seven and is the 2004 winner of the Bruges International Harpsichord Competition. His reading of the trios brings fresh light to the venerable works and a fine opportunity for hearing this new organ. "This recording comes highly recommended" from Matthew Power in Choir and Organ (May/June 2010, page 65). J. S. Bach: Sonatas for Two Claviers and Pedal, BWV525-530
