The organ city of Bad Homburg possesses several organs reflecting stages of organ building and musical history. The Erlöserkirche possesses both a large Sauer organ and a new Bach organ based on the 1742 Thuringian model. The Bürgy organ at the Schlosskirche represents the late Baroque. Other churches have Dreymann and Klais organs. Hayko Siemens, musical director at Erlöserkirche and organist for this CD, is particularly interested in historical and interpretative issues. C. P. E.
