The latest DVD production from Priory Records tours Lincoln Cathedral and features the excellent playing of Colin Walsh, Organist Laureate of the Cathedral. The production features many views of the cathedral interior, the organ, unusual views of the organist at work at the console (not visible from the nave), and a fine series of scenes of the exterior of the cathedral and the surrounding area. Colin Walsh has selected a broad range of literature to allow hearing of the Father Willis masterpiece, including works by William Byrd and George J. Bennett, both former organists of Lincoln. Messiaen, Bach, Elgar, Brahms and even Litaize accompany fine photography. A bonus CD of the musical selections is included, along with an informative booklet describing the production and recording the stoplist of the Willis organ. JACKSON: Fanfare, Op. 18 J. S.
